hi guys,

not sure whether has this question been brought up before or not, but i can't seems to find it here.

i'm trying to design my front/mainpage to be totally different from the rest of my page. what the frontpage_loggedout and frontpage_loggedin files does is just the mainbody. but i want to change the whole header and footer as well.

which file is the one that calls up the mainpage?

Keywords: frontpage

Hello everyone, I just love working with Elgg. I created a new site using Elgg called iPHONEcolony. It is a social networking site for you guessed it, iPhone users. The site currently is designed to be viewed on the iPhone in landscape mode. I am currently working on a version for desktop users. Enjoy the site!

I am looking to update the {{topmenu}}, where can I edit it to add links or remove links?

P.S. I know there are some small issues with the site visually, but I am working on those.

Keywords: iphone, theme, top menu, topmenu

okay, so i just uploaded a CSS file for all those interested. you should be able to find it at:

http://elgg.org/themes/files/9

since i never heard back from the elgg crew a while back, i went ahead and uploaded a slightly tweaked version of the current elgg.org CSS - it's named "CSS.css" so that you can edit easily, though if you want to use it on your own site, simply rename it CSS and remove the ".css" and load it into the default_templates folder where the old one is (perhaps back up that old one in case you wanna go back)

what does it look like? you're looking at it dude...a very clean, mostly white site with crisp coloration...there are also some standard widget containers/holders as they're used on the current elgg.org site so that you could, hypothetically, replicate that multi-box layout used on the home page of elgg itself...

as for that multi-column footer and so on, i've also managed to reproduce that along with some similar front page items (using the blog summaries from the newest version)...i can also edit those and upload if there's interest (you'll still need to scan to replace my site name in case i forgot a few)

oh, and btw, before you upload (!) be sure to pop in and do a find and replace with "YOURSITENAME" (with your own site, doh)

So I know where the top toolbar is called into existence - it's done using the {{toolbar}} keyword in mod/template/templates/Default_Template/pageshell on line 9 (near enough, anyway).

That 'takes' you (tho' I don't know why) to toolbar.inc in the mods/toolbar folder. This uses two keywords: {{menu}} and {{topmenu}.

The first determines the content of the main links (stuff like 'Your Dashboard'); the second handles the admin links (by default on the right of the page; stuff like 'Account Settings').

But I CANNOT find anywhere clear instructions on changing the generated content of these keywords, or others like {{mainbody}} (in pageshell).

Help: How can I access {{menu}} to change the links that appear??

I know, btw, that I can add new <li> items to the toolbar.inc file - but what if I want to remove or reorder the existing links? A-ha....

Keywords: {{menu}}, keywords, tags
