I've been trying to set up a new installation of elgg on  www.writingmate.com. I finally got the site to load., but it looks like the css or theme portion of the site is not found. I was hoping someone could take a look at this and recommend what I need to change to get the theme to function.

Thanks in advance,

Kerry

hi there,

 i installed some themes into my templates root folder (..elgg/mod/template/templates)

unfortunately all but my default templates logo and blockquotes are not displayed:

 from mandarin themes css:

#logo {
width:220px;
height:100px;
margin:0 10px 0 0;
background-image:url({{templatesroot}}Mandarin/images/leaf.gif);

/* background-color: black;*/
float:left;

it does not seem to be able to locate leaf.gif

 any ideas what could be wrong?

cheers

I have been testing a new install of elgg and for some reason my Tag Cloud wont work at all.. I have added tags in profiles and weblogs multiple times and they wont show up on my Tag Cloud.

 I can search and it will find tags just fine.. What could the problem be?

There are a few things I could use some help with.  I would like to make users moderate friend requests by default instead of openly adding someone automatically.  How would I go about doing this?

Also is there anyway to make certain widgets "install" themselves to a users profile when they register.  For example, I want the comment box widget to be automatically added to a users profile when they register.  How would I do such a thing?

Thanks!

I would like to change the formating for the CSS on the sidebar to make things a little easier for future users.  I have been looking around and I cannot find for the life of me where I make changes to the HTML/CSS for the Sidebar.  I know it is dynamically generated but there has to be a way to change the format to which it is displayed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've started a new wiki section called Menu Changes.

And I've started to add instructions how to do things I've figured out how to do.

It's in Running Elgg Docs under Branding.

http://elgg.org:81/mod/mediawiki/wiki/index.php/Running_El

Please add instructions someplace in wiki for everything you figure out how to do.

This will help encourage others to build successful themes and contribute them to the community.

Howdy,

Just questioning the wisdom of putting styling elements in the toolbar.inc and toolbardloggedout.inc files?

By shifting the last line (the div with clear both) to the default template pageshell. you get the same effect and you're not going to interfere with different themes.

I have been setting up a ELGG site for our k-12 district and I am working on a new theme.  I would like to share this when complete with the community.  In about a day or so I should be done working on the css stuff.

Here is the link:  http://eduspace.dearbornschools.org

I have just uploaded the new theme "Blue River" to the "Contributed Themes" section alog with a screen shot.

Hope you all enjoy.  Please let me know what you think or if you find and fix any issues.

Thanks,

Chris
