i'd really like to use this, but there is no read me explaining how to set this up and all of that...

i see that some items may require change (e.g. my host does not use 'localhost') and config is default to 'private' (but could this be public? what are the options in lib.php and in this mod in general)

i would really love to use this, but still have some serious questions about how to configure and set up with the new single email - does this mean i can just create a new catch all account like mobile@mysite.com and users just put the pins like "mobile1234@mysite" and it will route and drop in to validated pins?

and you mention phones - but if a user sends via sms to an email address, then what becomes the subject line?

and add to that: a dream feature request! allows users to specify in setup who receives items (access group) and allows users to enter email OR phone to get updates sent to them (like twitter, though not sure if this kind of cron run would cripple a busy elgg site)

Hi,

I just configured mediawiki plugin and it's working fine here (mediawiki 1.9.3 - http://stoa.usp.br/wiki). I want see Elgg menu toolbar on my Elgg instante, bellow it appearing only mediawiki, as you are doing here for elgg.org documentation.

May you guys, please, give me the code used on mod/mediawiki? If yes, you can send to my email everton137 at gmail dot com or give the link for download here.

Thanks in advance,

Tom.

so i see that there are several plugins listed in the svn that are not listed here on elgg. 2 appear to be elements of the application, so not sure if they're meant to be dropped into the /mod/folder - these include:

friendicon and
posticon

...but two others appear to be new, and i'm wondering if anybody has used them...

contenttoolbar: appears to be set for easy add/insertion of video clips instead of using the standard elgg tag thing (which is onerous for regular users of any elgg site) - seems to just allow for one to plop in the embed code from youtube, google video, etc..

cachecleaner: appears to be set for easy date control of cache dumping/cleaning...

Hi,

after installing the folio plugin (.51), the old entries in the sidebar are still shown - for the friends and communities. Any idea?

All functions are OK.

so i've been looking hard at using the presentation tool to allow 'vendors and suppliers' on my community site put up marketing materials and stuff like that...

but what i'd really like is to give them an option to use a template that inherits tags and keywords to support better searching and sorting, like a generic 'here's what i do, markets served, rates, etc' type of input form that in fact would spit out a presentation in the same format...

is this an actionable idea, or does it beg for more than what the plugin is currently doing? for example, i'm thinking that the admin designs the templates and makes them available to all users and if a user fits the bill, then he selects it (eg. goes to create a presentation and see option to use a template - sees choices (supplier, other etc) and if selected is presented with pre-named boxes/fields/dropdowns that inherit tags, etc

just wondering if anybody has given thought to implementing a simple link directory plugin that would allow a user or admin to create a category, nested categories, add links and descriptions kind of thing..yes, it can be done with presentations as well, but they don't support the kind of nesting that may be required for a robust collection....

or a delicious integration?

I've installed the folio plugin (previously succesfully) on a new host.

As soon as it's installed, if I attempt to browse to any page while logged in I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mb_detect_encoding() in /data01/kankan/public_html/lib/php-getttext/gettext.inc on line 101

There is a note here (http://elgg.org/admin/weblog/234.html) about this problem, but the note makes no mention of the Folio plugin and the author's solution does not work for me!

This is definitely connected to logged in users, because if I go to a new browser I can access the site as Guest; if I attempt to login I get the error.

Can anyone offer any advice?

I got an SQL error - "column not found". It was missing a prefix in mod/presentation/function_search.php, line 31:

  $searchline = str_replace("owner",$CFG->prefix."tags.owner",$searchline);

Strange that this didn't occur earlier...

we have that nice plugin for moodle to connect to elgg, but I am looking for a way to switch from elgg - my personal environment - to moodle. My favorite would be a block in elgg where my moodle courses/classes are indicated. And to be reached with a click.

I think it is more locigal to start in the community at my personal site to go for the classes in the lms. The courses are only open for a limited time, but my personal blog is indenpendend of the classes in moodle (or any other lms).

Is anybody working on a solution for this?

It works in Eduspaces.net, but I have not found a way to make it work in our Elgg 0.7 installation.

It is available the template_wrapper plugin. It allows to specify a custom pageshell from some site pages.

Something like the browse page  (two columns pageshell) in http://www.redreiri.org that looks a little different that the person home page (three columns pageshell).

It hope it would be useful for someone.

I'm trying to upload the latest version of the calendar plugin (mostly just bug fixes mentioned here).  I have not been successful.

I have tried uploading to my site on eduspaces.net but it just times out with a Read Timeout message.

I then tried to upload on elgg.org plugin files.  It does upload OK.  But when I download it, the file is corrupt.

I have moved to a Macintosh workstation.  Would that make a difference?

 Any suggestions?

I just added the AJAX YUI mod and I think it is great and works perfect in firefox. I tried it in IE6 though, and I can't seem to select any of the widgets to save once I moved them over to the left or right columns. Any thoughts?

The link to the Folio plugin seems to be to a broken .zip. Everytime I download it, it says that he archive has errors. Does anyone have a link to the file that works, or can anyone point me towards one?

Also, is there anyway to add items to the sidebar like MyBlogLog?
