[edit] How to contribute

Since its conception Elgg has been an open source project and ever since users have contributed in many ways: by spreading the word, submitting patches, adding wiki pages, creating plugins and by engaging in discussions with other community members. There's a lot going on and you might find it hard to find your way first. This page will give you some first hints.

[edit] Documentation

This wiki has been produced by people like you, so this might be an excellent way to start by adding your tips, tricks, screencasts and other experiences. If you are a developer comfortable with Elgg you might add to the developer wiki pages, or inline documentation of the code (see Development Process).

[edit] Themes

Elgg can always use great themes, so if you are a webdesigner, this might be a place to start. See Building themes as a start, some themes are available in the templates repository

[edit] Translating Elgg

Elgg has already bene translated in almost 60 languages and is a work in progress. You can contribute too, see the Internationalisation page for more information.

[edit] Elgg Trac

The code development process is being managed in Trac. Read more about the Development Process to see how you might contribute by testing the software, submitting enhancement tickets, bug reports, fixes, patches and more.
